Cantaloupe is a fruit high in beta carotene. Beta carotene is converted by your body into Vitamin A which helps vision, particularly night vision. Studies have indicated that diets high in beta carotene and Vitamin A reduce the risk of cataracts, a condition that blurs vision.

Cantaloupe is high in Vitamin C, boosting immunities to a wide range of diseases. Studies indicate that diets containing rich sources of Vitamin C enjoy longer life spans and reduced occurance of death from diseases.
